Yesterday was a big day for us. On the long days and nights of Natalie's first 2 months, I remembered my doctor saying that she would most likely grow out of the reflux problem by three months. I remember watching, "Bringing Home Baby" and at the end they always show the baby at 12 weeks, happy and splashing around in the bath or sleeping contently in the crib, and yearning for her to grow up enough to be happy. On the countless nights when all I could do was hold her and cry right along with her, I prayed for the strength to make it to three months, because it gave me something to look forward to. Sort of like an imaginary finish line. No more incessant screaming.
Even though she has been better for the past few weeks, I still celebrated yesterday as a milestone that had been a long time coming. We went to lunch at a FANTASTIC Mongolian Grill and walked around this cute little shopping village. She was such a good girl the entire time. It is so nice to have the freedom of knowing she will be okay if we want to go somewhere. What a change!
Yesterday she also found her toes. It is fun to watch her figure things out and be fascinated with them for hours. Parker suggested we put her in her "Johnny Jumper" and she actually liked it. She didn't really jump, but she seemed to like sitting there and sort of twirling from side to side.
Oh well, as long as she is entertained!
We learned on Thanksgiving that Natalie's cousin, Dylan, had stuck a Lego up his nose. Unfortunately, as of yesterday, doctors were still unable to remove it! Poor guy! Good luck Dylan, we hope it comes out soon!
Today is the Apple Cup game between WSU and UW. Parker's brother Casey is coming over from Moses Lake to go with him. Parker has been looking forward to this game forever! I hope UW wins and makes it a good game for him. He has been studying so much lately and has given up so many other "fun" things I hope they have a great time today!
Our lease here is up at the beginning of January so we need to decide pretty soon if we will be moving or not. There are a million reasons why we would move, and just about as many reasons to argue staying here. Oh how I hate moving. I hope it works out that we can stay. We love our ward and have recently made some friends in the complex. Plus, knowing we would be here for at least another year would give me time to actually do something with this place. I'd been putting it off because I thought we were moving but Parker has been arguing pretty strongly that we stay. I will have to go talk to the office on Monday and see what the new price will be. Wish us luck, because, did I mention how much I hate moving?
