I can't count the number of times Rian said this to me last week. It cracked me up every time. That's how she tells you it's time to play house. She gets to be the "Mom" and everyone else is a child, or what she calls a "Honey." Hilarious.
Last week Natalie and I went to Daishan and Aaron's to watch their two girls for almost a week. I'll admit, I had prepared myself for the worst but it ended up being absolutely fine. For starters, she has two of the best behaved girls, ever. Granted I think the fear of a new person in charge probably had them on their best behavior but, it worked okay for me! Couple that with Daishan being the most prepared person EVER and everything worked out. She had drawn a town map, secured free passes to a children's museum in Tacoma, and had lists of other activities, her kitchen was stocked, and the house was 100% ready for us. We had so much fun! We went to the museum, to the park, played outside for HOURS, read books, played house (yes, I was the honey), and watched some cartoons.
During one of the cartoons Rian looked over at me with ELATION on her face and said,"OH, I LOVE this one. I've seen it before, YEARS ago." She's three...
The only glitch was the obvious fact that I could not nap during the day with Natalie if I needed a little pick-me-up. This would have been doable if not for the fact that I also started reading the "Twilight" books...
I swore I would not read them. I've never had less of a desire to read a book in my life. Seriously, a high school vampire love story?!? Give me a break...
That entire week, I didn't sleep, I read. And read. And read. And once I was home and finished with the third book I was lost. Really, I would sort of walk around doing whatever needed to be done and just think about them. If I'm going to be honest, I think still about Edward... a lot. At least Stephenie could have done me the courtesy of setting the book in college instead of high school. There is nothing noble about being obsessed with a fictitious high school aged vampire. Would it have killed her to make him legal?
The week went by so quickly, I was surprised. Addy was such a good helper, and Rian kept me laughing with her princess dresses and incessant desire to chew gum. It was nice to see Daishan and Aaron for a bit as well. I wish there had been more days to just visit. Then, on my way out of town Daishan treated me to a pedicure for my birthday! It was DIVINE! Now we are home and getting back into the swing of things, and wishing desperately for some nice warm weather!

Sounds like you had fun! I've missed you! We need to get together! Natalie looks like she's grown a lot already!!
Can I just say that I've read the Twilight books twice each and am going to read them again before the next book comes out in August! I know the premise sounds corny but they are FABULOUS. Such an escape, and all us busy moms need one of those every once in awhile. Hang in there sweetie! I'm reading your blog from far off Norway and wish I was there to pick raspberries, make jam, walk and visit with you. See you in June! Julie
Camery, I love the title to this post...how very funny. I enjoy the details you always remember to write about, too. In short, I love your posts!
Ande had Britney's kids last week and I wondered who had Daishan's. Britney had everything organized, mapped and stocked just like Daishan...sounds like they're sisters or something :) Daishan's girls are so cute.
Your line that the least Stephanie could have done was to make Edward legal made me laugh as well.
Sounds like you had a great week! I too have read Twilight...I swore I wouldn't but it got the best of me. I couldn't put them down so there I was engrossed in those things for like 3 days straight. I laughed at the making it legal thing you said. I thought that was hilarious, but true! It wouldn't make it sound so lame that we all love the books as much as we do if it was set in college!
a couple things...
1. thanks for the pictures of addy and rian...they are getting so big and we don't see them often enough. adorable.
2. seriously isn't daishan like the best mom ever?
3. YOU READ THE TWILIGHT SERIES...cam cam. I have held out and I thought for sure you would also be one to not read them....hahhaha
I loved this! I have read the first book, but not the other two...but I two was addicted, and sadly thought way too much about the charming Edward. If it's any consolation, he is 200 years old, so technically he is legal! Ha! Love you guys!
