This week has been a little more exciting than most. It started on Sunday when Natalie and I left Moses Lake and drove back over to Lynnwood with Aunt Sheila. Monday we woke up and I realized Natalie had slept for FIVE hours in a row! She is doing this more often than not at night and I keep thanking my lucky stars. It amazes me how functional I can be during the day with only 5 hours sleep. This is a new thing for me, I have always been a sleeper...I miss my sleep but things are getting better. After my doctor's appointment we packed into the van and drove up to Tulip Town to pick up Sheila's bulbs. We stopped at a cute farm store that was decorated for the holidays and was full of people picking out their harvest pumpkins. Then we stopped at the Outlet mall on our way home. Natalie was a trooper and slept most of the time in the car. She still hasn't come around to her stroller but I am hopeful that eventually she will. Tuesday I tried to start her on a bottle. What a joke. I swear I have tried every bottle possible and she's just NOT having it. I have been told to try every day at every feeding. I will start that on Monday...I think. :) Sheila took us out to dinner at ClaimJumper's and we ate the most delicious dinner. What a treat!
Wednesday Sheila had to leave so after we said goodbye Natalie and I drove over see Dr.Luba for her two month check up. She was a champ! It wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting although I'm glad we don't have to do that for another two months. The worst part was the next two days. She was whining and fussing most of the time but she's back to normal today. She weighs 11.4 lbs and is 22 inches!
But the real highlight of the week happened today. I had laid her down on a blanket on the floor and gone into do my hair. When I came out a few minutes later to check on her I realized that she had rolled over all by herself! She was so happy on her tummy and was just looking around. I was thrilled Parker was here to see it as well! We texted our family to share the good news and Aunt Jaime responded that their family had also had a big milestone...Dylan pooped in the potty! Yea, Dylan!
Friday I took Natalie grocery shopping for the first time, something I have been dreading from day one, and it was NOT fun. It started out okay until this old lady started stopping me to talk EVERY time we passed eachother. You know how you can time it just right so that you can pass one person down every single aisle? That's what we did. The first time she stopped to tell me about her new grandchildren. I thought that was nice enough but then she wouldn't stop. Natalie began to fuss so I started walking away and finally she smiled and stopped talking. But then each pass she became a little more annoying. She would offer advice or whatever and then finally when Natalie is SCREAMING but I'm almost done shopping the lady says, "Pick her up and give her a hug, she needs to know she is loved." I smiled and said,"She's fine, thank you" and the woman wouldn't stop. She started following me all the while demanding that I pick her up. Luckily, I had the element of speed on my side and I got the heck out of her way and out of the store. (Where I did pick up my screaming baby and tell her I loved her.)
Well, tomorrow is church and we are going to try again to make it through all three hours. Being quiet has never been Natty's strong point and for some reason she seems even louder in the chapel. But I guess there's no other way around it so we'll be there.
